Veleen - Vocalist from London, UK
Spanning from cruise ships to festivals stages, private events to theatre productions, Veleen has built a career on versatility and professionalism. Grounded in countless live shows worldwide across diverse settings she now leads D-Tension. She channels this wealth of experience into a polished and engaging live stagecraft, that defines the band’s unique style.
Yves Gysin - guitar, backing vocals
The versatile guitar player Yves Gysin has refined quite a few bands with his tasteful and energetic style. He enjoys nothing more than a solid groove and convinces with an excellent sound. To dive deep into soul and funk music with D-Tension? Yes, please!
Abraham Stalder - keyboards, backing vocals
This multi instrumentalist has played keyboards and drums in bands of various styles, since a young age. A certified drummer from the Swiss Jazz School, he combines his percussion expertise with a deep and diverse interest in electronic musical instruments and their programming, lending the band’s overall sound a distinctive richness and versatility.
Dave Scherler - bass, backing vocals
Dave was born in Bern in 1974. He spent his childhood in Australia in the 1980s. There, inspired by his father, he began playing the organ and became familiar with Latin American music through his Mexican mother. After returning to Switzerland, he successfully completed his studies as a pianist at the Swiss Jazz School in Bern.
Since his teenage years, Dave has also taught himself to play guitar and bass. His extensive experience as a multi-instrumentalist makes him a well-connected and down-to-earth bassist in the band.
Christoph Jaussi - drums, backing vocals
To date, he has performed as a drummer in eighteen countries, was a permanent member of Justina Lee Brown’s award-winning band, and was the long-time live and studio drummer for Wurzel 5, Baze, Trummer, k’daar, Dänu Brüggemann, Capitanio and the Alexander Paeffgen Trio. Among others, he has also performed on stage in Switzerland and abroad with Steff La Cheffe, Joy Frempong, Ina Müller, Tilo Nest, Max Lässer, Copenhagen Slim and Jan Galega Brönnimann.
As well as being the drummer in D-Tension, he currently plays the drums for Gross in Japan, Ro‘s Blue, Lieblingslieder and Badwannepirate.
As well as drumming, he has always been passionate about playing the piano, singing, and writing lyrics and songs. In 2026, he will release his third album of original music with his project, Five Blue, in 2026.
